Tysons Gets a Town Square
Lerner Enterprises Provides 10-Acre Lot to Help Build Community Spirit
Tysons, Virginia, May 31, 2014 - "Tysons now has a Town Square!" proclaimed Sharon Bulova, Chair of
the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, as she cut the ribbon at Lerner Town Square in Tysons, VA.
"We thank our corporate citizens for doing more than their share to help create a great new city."
Lerner Enterprises, in cooperation with The Tysons Partnership, launched a community-building initiative
at Lerner’s 10-acre parcel of land immediately adjacent to the Silver Line Tysons Corner Metro Station.
LERNER TOWN SQUARE AT TYSONS II, located at 8101 Galleria Drive, will be home to a series of annual
festivals - starting with The Great Taste of Tysons May 31-June 1.
"Lerner is proud to help develop a community spirit and improve the quality of life in Tysons," said
Bob Tanenbaum, a principal at Lerner Enterprises. "We are a founding member of the Tysons
Partnership, and we are committed to the continued transformation of this exciting region."
Tysons Partnership is the association of landowners, business leaders, and citizen groups working
together with Fairfax County government to transform Tysons from an edge city into a modern
downtown. Over the next 35 years, Tysons will double in size, adding 45-million square feet of mixed
use development, most within a half-mile of a Silver Line Metro Station.
"This is one of the biggest development projects on the U.S. east coast," said Michael Caplin, director
of the Tysons Partnership. "Our Partnership is working hard to create a community that is sustainable,
dynamic, humane and fun."
