Lerner Adds New Community Amenities to Dulles Town Center

Dulles, Virginia, November 12, 2013 - Lerner Enterprises, one of Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developers, is proud to announce that the company will be adding additional community amenities to Dulles Town Center, a 554-acre master planned live-work-shop mixed use development in Loudoun County, Virginia.  The company has delivered a preserved historic park and is in the process of completing a new commuter lot and pedestrian improvements for Loudoun County, Virginia.

“As we embark on the continued evolution and expansion of offerings within Dulles Town Center, we are proud to provide new amenities for our neighbors, employees, shoppers and residents,” stated Mark D. Lerner, a principal of Lerner.  “As the home to one of the only commuter lots in Eastern Loudoun County, we are excited that the new commuter lot will provide the thousands of employees and residents that live and work at Dulles Town Center with much needed public transportation options,” he added. 

Route 28 Commuter Lot

Lerner is currently constructing a new Loudoun County Route 28 Commuter Parking Lot located at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Dulles Center Boulevard, near the 21000 Atlantic Boulevard office building.  The new commuter parking lot, adjacent to Route 28, will initially include 100 parking spaces, multiple bus bays and shelters, benches, plus bicycle racks and lockers.  Loudoun County Transportation will provide commuter bus service.  The commuter lot is currently under construction and will be delivered to the county in summer 2014.  In addition, there are future plans to expand the commuter lot to a maximum of 300 spaces as Dulles Town Center continues to develop in the future. 

Vestals Gap Park

Vestals Gap Park is a 7.7 acre park located near Dulles Center Boulevard and Century Boulevard along Route 28.  The scenic park pays homage to the historic trail that ran from Alexandria to Winchester that George Washington, General Braddock, and settlers used for transportation needs centuries prior to the development of the Little River Turnpike, Georgetown Pike and others.  Vestals Gap Park is in the process of being dedicated to Loudoun County Parks and Recreation and is inclusive of a permeable walking/hiking trail, complimentary parking spaces, benches and interpretive signage illustrating the historical relevance of the park. 

Pedestrian Improvements

Lerner is in the process of constructing pedestrian improvements that better connect the mixed use Dulles Town Center to the outside community at the intersection of Route 7 and City Center Boulevard.  The new pedestrian improvements will include the construction of approximately 1900 feet of new sidewalk along City Center Boulevard and create a cross walk inclusive of traffic signal upgrades at Route 7.  The improvements will provide a new access point into Dulles Town Center and provide the community with a safer option of crossing across Route 7. 

Other New Development at Dulles Town Center

  • The construction of Windmill Parc at Dulles Town Center (WindmillParcDTC.com), a 437-unit luxury apartment home community in Dulles, Virginia.  Phase one of the project is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014.

  • The construction of the state-of-the-art Regal Dulles Town Center Stadium 10 & RPX Theaters is underway within Dulles Town Center mall and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014. 

  • New store additions that have recently joined Dulles Town Center mall include Pandora (jewelry), Francesca’s, and Diamond Concepts Jewelry.

  • The construction of Nokes Plaza at Dulles Town Center, a one-story 56,000 square foot retail | office | medical development.  Occupancy is scheduled for the summer of 2015.
