Convene to Open Washington Area's First Meeting and Events Center within The Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II

 

Tysons Corner, Virginia, July 18, 2013 - Lerner Enterprises, one of Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developers, announced today that Convene, a developer and provider of specialized conference spaces and integrated services for off-site professional meetings, has leased 15,000 square feet at The Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II in Tysons Corner, Virginia.  The new conference and meeting center will be located on the lobby level within 1800 Tysons Boulevard.  Convene’s space, which includes the building’s iconic oriel window that provides picturesque views of both Tysons Boulevard and Galleria Drive, is projected to open in the fall of 2013. 

Originally known as Sentry Centers, Convene was founded in 2009 by entrepreneurs Christopher Kelly and Ryan Simonetti with the goal of creating a new category of dedicated conference space that enhances the productivity and overall experience of off-site meetings.  The company currently employs nearly 100 empowered, passionate staff members – many with hotel, hospitality and corporate meeting backgrounds – all services are in-sourced and administered by Convene.  Convene currently has centers in Midtown and Downtown Manhattan.

1800 Tysons Boulevard is the closest office building to the soon to open Tysons Corner Metro Station.  The building is a 12-story 320,000 square foot, Class ‘A’ office building located within The Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II. The award-winning Kohn Pederson Fox designed building features a climate controlled walkway connected to the premier shopping and dining destination, Tysons Galleria, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel ∙ Tysons Corner.  The state-of-the-art building includes a high-tech lobby, state-of-the-art telecommunications system, stainless steel and granite accents, on-site Concierge Service, a café, a fitness center and prestigious neighbors including PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, Houlihan Lokey, LLC, and HSBC Bank among others.
